Hey Tef.

Would you like to have your E-fan work like stock?

Better yet, I'll show you

I'll get a few pics of the E-fan conversion for the dual fans where they run off the stock wiring with stock relays/fuses.

I don't mean to butt in on a conversation, but can the information flow this way aswell?

Ok, so here's a pic of the wires. This is in front of the radiator connected to the stock electric fan for the air conditioner.

You'll see the front two wires in this picture. Green and Pink. Behind those 2 are two wires. Both are black/yellow wires. The black/yellow wires are the grounds. The green & pink wires are the positive for the electic fans. The dual fans I run have one connected to the green & a black/yellow. The other is connected to the pink & a black/yellow.

I'm not exactly sure which two you'd use, but you can easily find out by splicing into them and connecting.

Just a thought. I'm not sure what the initial drain of current is on the 14" fan you have though. In total you don't want more than 20A on that circuit.

So what you're saying is, for your set up with the dual fans, one fan is connected to the green and black wires, the other is connected to the pink and yellow wire?

And the fans run as normal? I thought the AC fan only came on when the AC was running.

Both grounds are black&yellow (black/yellow)

And yes, one pink and one ground. The other green and ground. It runs one fan like normal. The other fan comes on like the AC fan. I removed the stock AC fan.

The AC fan will kick on with AC/defrost and when the engine coolant gets to a specific temp it will also kick on. I believe that is somewhere around 190*.

How many miles have you driven with this setup? Any issues of excessive heat at all while driving?

Its a pretty good idea though, thanks for posting it up. I was almost tempted of doing the other method of installing an aftermarket thermostat and new relay for it, but decided against it after seeing all the wiring that you have to fit under the hood.

Extensive testing has been done by some people.. (dave at nissan sport mag) with the wiring. He has hooked several E-fan conversions up and the best he found was to use the stock wiring. You get to use the relays and stuff as well...so it works out best. The aftermarket stuff has had issues with turning on later than the desired temp and turning off too late as well. This is from what he told me. I'm assuming he knows more than anybody else as he's set so many people's up.

If you go E-fan conversion, might I suggest that you get the Flex-a-lite FLX-220 (dual puller fans). I looked into Mishimoto and I had many people tell me to go with flex-a-lite over mishimoto.

Thanks for the info, hopefully I'll finally be able to get around to doing this sometime soon. The FLX-220 kit seems to come with everything you need too, which should make the install a bit easier.

Have you heard anything about the mod being track tested at all? (Drag or autocross) I'm mostly worried about going to the track and ending up over heating.

I went with Mishimoto 14in. If it is good enough for a v8 mustang I'm sure it is more then enough for my car.

Thank you for the info. I may look into it this summer when I have a tad more time and better weather.

The Flex-a-lite fans actually come with a shroud. So it works great.

The green wire is the positive for the low engagement temp. The pink wire is for the high temp engagement point.

Good to know, thanks.

So what would you suggest for the hook up with the dual fans? Should the driver side be hooked up to the low temp or high, or does it matter?

I don't think it really matters.

I have mine set with the drivers side to come on at low engagement (green wire) point which is like 183* and the passenger fan (pink) to come on at the high temp engagement, which is like 202*.
