Teeth on Speed Sensor Umm.. whats wrong then

Ok i took my speed sensor out cause my speedo and odometer was not working. But the teeth on the sensor were just a little worn on the middle of the crank peice on the sensor. not to bad but pluged it back in and nooo work?? what else could this bee i looked in search for a long time. I have a anolog cluster.

theres a lot of little gears you have to line up in there but I don't think the gears actually control the speedo... only the odomoter and tripometer...

The speed sensor is an electronic unit. It has like two wires coming out of it. The fact that it is an analog unit just means that the gauge you see is analog. It actually receives an electonic signal. More than likely your speed sensor is bad. You test it just like you would any generator. The faster it spins, the higher the voltage output should be.
