The first time I went I got a free welded diff coupon LOL. I still havent used it yet. I'm wondering if someone would buy it off me. You should go again tonight Razi. I've never met you or your car. Plus you can win a turbo :d I doubt it's a name brand one though. I could be wrong.

So around this timeframe, I had this outrageous party at my house for my 18th birthday. I decided to empty out my garage to use it as a dancepad.

The party was crazy epic. OMEGA can vouch for it. There must have been 400 people crammed into my backyard, 250 of them being females or at least, resembling females.

That is completely irrelevant to my build thread though. What IS relevant, is that I emptied out my garage.

Well as the evening continued, things started to get dramatically out hand, just as they always do when the consumption of controlled substances starts increasing past the point of reaching your "Happy Place." I started hearing threats of terrible violence arise in my backyard, most of them directed towards me. My coupe was parked outside, and as I kicked them out with my bouncers they threatened to come back to vandalize my house and all of my cars.

And so the coupe went into the garage, and stayed there for a good long while.

Then It started to become a bit more drivable, so I'd take it around the block a few times just to keep everything fresh in the engine.

After realizing that it hadn't completely fallen apart while driving it, my confidence rose a little, and I decided it was time to take this bad boy back to the streets.

Naturally, my high school would be the first destination.

I remember taking 5 minutes just to get up the driveway and realizing what a stupid idea this was. Then I remembered all the speedbumps in the parking lot. So I parked it in this spot that really isn't a spot.

I walked into the school through the front office, and my principal stopped me. He said he saw me take 5 minutes just to get into the parking lot, and then told me I didn't even park in a legit spot. Then he said, "It's okay, with your car that low I wouldn't expect you to make it any further. Now tell me, how do you plan to get OUT of the parking lot at 3:00?"

Hah. Good question.

Let me tell you, getting out of that parking lot was a royal pain in the butt. First, I tried getting out by going forward. The security guards at the gates were telling me, "Stop! Stop!"

I guess my bumper was going under my car. Haha. So I went to another exit, and tried coming out in reverse.... when a cop showed up.

Fantastic.

He parked in the middle of the street, got out blocked traffic for me. Rad!

So I pulled out, waved "thanks" to the officer and started driving down the street. Then flipped on his lights and sirens right in front of the school where everyone was standing. Not so rad.

He comes up to my window and starts looking around my interior, which on that day looked like this,

"Is this car road legal?" He asked me. Is it road legal? Hah! Of coooouuuurssse it is. Yeah, I've got the registration and insurance right here, that makes it legal, right?

I showed him all of the paperwork, and he finished up by announcing, "If I ever, and I mean EVER see you driving this car around Torrance after today, I will seize it and make sure it gets crushed."

Yes, sir.

So I drove home, and put it right back in the garage.

Actually. I drove it back to school the next day. Hah! Know why?

Because that's when I blew the headgasket in my hatch! Oh the joys of cars. My damned daily driver decides to fail on me.

So in reality, I had no choice by to drive my coupe to school. So I returned it back to a somewhat stock form.

This would keep the police off my butt and allow me to live my life somewhat normally.

Then the Apex'i sale occured. I needed gauges, and I kinda liked the A'pexi EL2 Series. My favorites are definitely Greddy, but these were pretty cheap so what the heck..

I got water temp, boost, oil temp and the control unit. Cool. These wouldn't get installed for another 6 months, but oh well.

Then I went back to a 626 Competition, where I drove pretty well during qualifying.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQFXuJ3jrAE

And then at the end of my last qualifying run, I managed to crash and break my car.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gThhHeK4Rg

Awesome.

I'd bent my tension rod bracket, and my car was un-drivable at this point. I tried every method of fixing it, but no luck. I'd have to forfeit.

He is putting allot of work into it obviously, and he is still a couple months behind... it feels like his birthday was last year!

The pictures of teddy and his car on our site are from later than this event, so I know he is putting allot of love into this build.

As far as him having so many pics, I would guess because EVERYONE takes allot of pics of teddy, including me.

In 5 years, if teddy doesn't have a full ride, I would be very very surprised!

I love remembering events with pictures, so I always take lots of pictures of everything so I can look back on it later. It's because I have a lot of pictures that I made this thread.

I've had a job since I was 15. Every penny earned from work in the last 4 years has been going to my car(s). I don't spend money on XBOX 360s and iPhones and all that junk. I spend money on turbos, engines and suspension pieces.

That's doug right there LOL... Life is full of trade-offs.

btw teddy you look real comfortable when you drift. Make it look easy. My first time I went out I was fighting the car more than controlling it. Good to see some technique

Thanks Didderson, but I really wish I could clean up my technique some more. It's likely it will after I finish putting my coupe back together, but that won't be for months to come.

This guy is from Florida, he has very clean technique.

First I worked as a cook in an Italian restaurant. Then I worked at a tropical fish store, and now I'm a waiter in a French restaurant.
