so, it goes like this, got a Network Everywhere (linksys) wired router Model NR041.

So the dealio is when playing online games, say for example Counterstrike, I can't get a good server list regardless of my filter settings. From my experience it's got something to do with the firewall on the router interfering. I've tried a DMZ host but it leads to either no connection at all or a decrease in current performance?

and ideas or suggestions?

have you tried disabling the NAT firewall?

i dont play games, so im not exactly sure. if you do have a nat firewall in the router, it would prevent the game server from pinging you or detecting your machine. maybe that's what the problem is.

haha, I never got around to updating the firm ware either...that might have a hand in it....guess I'll find out when it finishes upgrading...

why not set a default setting of low security on your firewall? Between that and the crappy microsoft one you shouldn't have any problems.

Though it seems no matter what server i go to there is lag
