The only of the 3 engines i dont know alot about is the ca18det. The ka is the stock 2.4 engine coming in the usdm s chassis and was available in a sohc or dohc. The sr came in the silvias starting in 90 i believe and came in a red top and a black top. In the later s15 variant they added varible valve timing to the sr to produce power over a larger powerband. For a moderator to criticize me for not knowing much about the engines is unethical even if i did know nothing about any of the engines. i believe that is the purpose of a forum is it not?

Yeah i was like that too. But they highly recommend you search for what you need because most likely it has already been covered. If not goole ca18det faq and a whole bunch of stuff should show up. But other than that search on this forum. Guarenteed you'll find what your looking for.

Welcome to NICO first and foremost.

Dee, aka "boost_boy" has forgotten more about the CA than most on here will ever know. He can come across as harsh, and he has put me in my place more than once in my 5 years of CA ownership, but you will be better off for listening to him.

First off:Your years are wrong. Quick history:R/S13: 1989-1990 JDM 180SX/Silvia had an 8 port CA18DET, USDM 240SX had a SOHC KA24E.R/PS13: 1991-1994 180SX/Silvia JDM Redtop low port SR20DET. 1995-1996 Type-X Blacktop high port SR20DET.R/MS13: 1991-1994 USDM KA24DE 240SX.

Next, read this. All of it.http://texasnissans.com/tx/for...=2050

Then come back and ask away.

now i will be the d!ck...

i read that thread, and Dee was COMPLETELY in the right. you obviously did not search, atleast not enough to know anything about the CA. theres a whole FAQ section listed on the page where there is ALOT of CA info just waiting to be read..

and to suggest an SR head on a CA block?..that right there shows your ignorance..CA head > SR head..

just use the search function or browse the web next time. alot has been covered on here, trust me i know..i've read almost every thread in the CA section since i bought my engine lol
