Tech question - Jewelry recovery

My wifes 2003 sedan is a jewelry thief! At this point there's about $500 in baubles missing under the front seats. What's involved in R&Ring the front power seats. Is it a task for a body shop or can any idiot like me do it?

It is not that hard at all, 4 bolts and i think two wiring harness that need to get unplugged.

If you have side impact airbags in the seats, you may want to unplug the battery and let it sit for about 20 minutes before disconnecting any wires. Otherwise the Airbag light may come on and you'll have to clear it.

If you move the seat all the way forward and all the way back, you should be able to get the jewelry out without taking the seat out.

In some cases, it's easier to actually push the item, then move the seat all the way in the other direction.

I usually love change and pens. French Fries will soon be banned!!!

Thanks, but I tried that. The jewel burglar sucks them in the holes of the carpet where the seat tracks come through. There's a diamond stud on the passenger side and a gold pendant on the drivers side pluse I found a pair of reading glasses, about $1.20. three fries, two cheddar goldfish and other unidentified objects.

I almost lost my keys when I dropped them in between the center console and driver's seat. Luckily I fished 'em out before they went as deep as your jewelry and assorted items went. Hope you get your jewelry back from your thief

You sure the stud is down there? Maybe she lost it somewhere else and is just sending you on a wild goose chase until you finally buy her another one hehehe.

After you pull out the seat, I suggest sealing off those openings in the carpet. Glue gun might work.
