pedsemdoc I'm thinking I'd like to hear briefly your comparison to that Audi , be very interesting to hear.
Not a fair comparison, and not trying to take over radigan's thread, but briefly:
ENGINE: V6 naturally aspirated vs twin turbo V8: Audi is a straight line rocket both off the line and even when cruising, instantaneous power, no turbo lag. It is a heavier car too by over 500 lbs, but it doesn't drive that way, I think Quattro helps with the corners
STEERING: I usually drive in dynamic mode in the Audi, so a little heavier, but doesn't seem as tight/light as the Infiniti
TRANSMISSION: Sometimes my Infiniti in manual mode lurched a little from 1st to 2nd, auto mode was smoother. Audi is smoother, but in Dynamic mode with rpms higher, the shifts can be a little harsh. Plus the Audi is all wheel drive, my M37 was not the AWD version
RIDE: pretty comparable, Infiniti was on 20 in wheels and the Audi is on 21 in, also the Audi has air suspension which can be adjusted, so it drops lower in dynamic mode, and raises it for comfort mode
TECH: even though my Audi is only 1 year newer than my M, it is light years ahead wrt navigation (Google maps and/or regular Audi nav) with a touch pad for writing in letters for destinations, Bang & Olufson stereo vs Bose, heads up display, Infra-red camera to see things at night, heated/cooled AND massaging seats, LEDs for most of the interior and exterior lighting, etc.
PRICE: suggested manufacturer list when new: Infiniti was close to $60k, Audi was $128k
RELIABILITY: Infiniti is gonna win this but so far after 7k miles the Audi has been pretty trouble-free (knock on wood)
PLUS, the RS7 is a hatchback (the rear seats fold down too) even though it looks like a sedan - so there's some practicality there - at least that's what I told my wife
Loved my M, but the Audi is at a whole other level (although I don't think it is twice the car as the M - if you're looking strictly at price)
