Has anyone here ever got in trouble for doing doughnuts or anything leaving tire marks in a parking lot before?

Can you get sued or charged?

In mast states its a traffic violation. but its one of those things that are up to the judgement of the officer. Here in Califorina they ususally ticket you for exibition of speed and/or reckless endangerment.

If it is a parking lot owned by the city or state then they will most likely give you the reckless endangerment or reckless driving. If the parking lot is owned by a private buisness then they can still give you the ticket and the owner of the lot may seek restitution for the dammage. Its not cheep to re-pave one of those things.Id say its highly unlikely that they would do so.I do know of a parking lot close to me that the owner mounted outside cameras on the roof of his building to try and catch and/or prevent people from leaving their mark.(lucky for me I left mine long before the cameras)

around here if the owners care enugh to put money into the problem they put those concrete stoppers at the end of each parking space. that guy with the cameras sounds like a real a$$hole. If I lived around there I'd take my plates off and spin a few just to piss him off.

I was pullin donuts in out mall parking lot at 1 am and I got pulled over by a state trooper and just told him that I had just got the car and was testing it out and I figured an empty parking lot late at night was the safest spot. He let me off but told me not to do it again because I could roll my car and he didnt want to see me get hurt. Thanks for the advice officer :)

roll a 240? yea right. youd have to be sliding sideways at like 40mph and hit a curb to roll one of our cars. matter of fact my friend did just that and he didnt roll and it was a Z32. he only bent the lower controlarms and scuffed up the wheels on that side.

Heh..I got caught once. I told the officer that since it was raining, I wanted to try it since "I've never done it before." He let me go with a warning, and gave me some line like, "You never know who's lurking in the dark shadows." I was thinking, "OK Batman." But needless to say, I haven't done donuts in parking lots other than my shop.:)
