So I finally fix the problems she's been having... take it out to a Waterford Raceway OTD here in MI (road course not to far from me)... got about 8 laps in... felt really good. Well, at the end of the back straight... bringing down the speed... enter the corner... loading again... BOOM... son of a... rolls/drives a bit and then tons of steam... smells like coolant.

Got it back in the paddock... shut her down... sounds like crap and the underbody is soaked. I haven't actually diagnosed the problem, but I'm pretty sure the HG is gone. I wasn't boosting to high, oil pressure looked good... I'll do a leak test on the coolant system this afternoon...

The day wasn't all bad though... I drove one of our racing team's Z's and pulled a solid 20 deg drift at the top of 3rd coming out of "swamp turn" onto the front straight... I need to swap out my viscous LSD for one of the Nismo units we have in those... love it!

You're not the only one now Carl... this one was on it's way out. Making more power with the PFC probably expodited the death (hadn't made it to the dyno again yet)... the old 166rwhp probably couldn't kill anything (even though it had shown dying signs when it was on the dyno for that session) :oP

Can't say I was surprised from this though... ebay motor for 1000... eh... what the hay right

Ahh... but I should add, for all the RB guys... I can't count how many times people came up to me and said, "wow... that thing sounds amazing! I've never heard anything like it!"

Gotta love the RB...

oh geeze, your time sounds exactly like mine at a local road course! I thought the same damn thing, I thought I blew my HG, coolant all over the under body of my car, she was making a pshhhhhhhhh noise while not even on, as pressure was being released... turned out it was my coolant line to my turbo, the one right behind the head, I had damaged it slightly on install and it finally burst from the non stop pressures of racing.

maybe yours will be the same.... but if it sounds bad.... it might be worse :/

good luck sorry man.

lol, sorry to hear but hope its nothing major.to be expected from a car that sees lots of stress and a track car is nothing but in the line of fire.hope you figure out what happened, never any fun.

I thought it coolant line at first... but it's not leaking from there from what I could tell on Sunday.

Thanks for all the words everyone... Hopefully I'll get some time to dive into it this week to figure out what's up with the motor. It's only time and money right :o)
