you live in Hawthorn right?

dude... instead of trying to find out about unheard of places... why not just choose a place that is well-heard of? Cuz youre in Socal.. theres like a shop in almost every city.. with possibly better prices and feedback...

here, let me name a few:~sr motorcars~rnd factory~sr20 store (probably best by far, for swaps and rebuilds)\~drift speed~rb performance~rhd design~aerodyne industries~underpressure fabrications.. this is just to name a few... not to mention some of the dudes that don't have a shop that'll do the work for you in their garage (it was only till recently that RHD design got a license... before, the guy used to do swaps in his garage, lol)

Pretty old thread but I'll reply anyway

I got my 240 from the guys at Team Clockwork and I have to say other than a few things in the interior that needed to be taken care of everything with them went very smoothly.

I had the money for them and they began the swap, within about 3-4 days I had the car and with a few adjustments the car has been runny great for as long as I've had it.

They're easy to do business with and they get to the point with whatever you want.

Hello

My name is Manny Von Vigil Jr. I am the owner of Team Clockwork Performance. Thank you for visiting our website. I am sorry that you were unable to find any information regarding some of our projects. We have been in the industry for 9 years and have built over 100 cars for local customers as well as out of state customers. We started our history in the early days of Import Drag racing when we built "The Worlds First VG30DETT Powered Outlaw Class Nissan 240sx. (many pics on our web site). Our history progressed with the industry and as it changed, we adapted. We began building RHD conversions in 2001 and have built dozens since. Please feel frre to give us a call if you have any questions at all regarding our work. Also, we have a very long reference list here at the shop which has the names and phone number of many of our customers who were so satisfied with our work they they volunteered to be put on the reference list.

Hopefully we can help you with any of your 240sx needs.

Thank YouManny Voon Vigil Jr.Team Clockwork Performance310-901-6418http://www.teamclockwork.com

I have to say Manny does s*** work. I got my swap from him back in July of 2010 and it has been nothing but a disaster. I get there and it runs like s***, bogging out and him having to feather the pedal to keep it from stalling. He also put the battery cables on backwards and sat there for 15mins hitting my starter saying that it was stuck. He then puts the blame on my friend and tries to charge him $150 for an ignitor chip. On top on that on the drive home I hade to fill up like 3 times. By the time I got to rosedale the transmission went out and all he had to say was "tuff luck its not my problem". Been debating on taking him to small claims court.

Steer clear of Team Clockwork, go to a more reputable shop.

Hello

Thank you for you review. In an effort to offer better and better service, we always welcome customer feedback. Be it positive or negative.

Let me first start by listing a few facts regarding your transaction with us.

First, we finished your swap on time and on budget. We even included that sweet JDM short shifter that came with your front clip. When you arrived to pick up your car, we went for a test drive. You needed an air filter so we decided to take the car for a cruise on down to the Autozone to purchase a new air filter. We drove the car there and back. The car ran perfectly. It did not have a single problem. It ran fine. It idled fine. Boost was good and absolutely no malfunction was present. It did not have a single problem. And this was all BEFORE you paid the balance due on the swap. That is to say, I took you for a test drive before you paid the balance due. (Any logical person can conclude that if there was any problem, you would not have paid the balance due and had me sort out any issues with the swap)
In addition, when we got back, we parked the car and went inside to handle the paperwork. By the time we came back out, your friends that came with you had taken it upon themselves to remove the loaner battery I had installed and installed the battery you brought with you. It was your friends that removed the my battery and it was your friends that put the new battery in while you and I were in my office handling the paperwork. They put the battery cables on the wrong battery terminals. After they did that, when you and I walked back out, they even asked me for a 10mm to tighten the cables.... I am sure you remember all that.

So, lets go over that part again, we got back from a test drive and the car runs great. No problems. Your friends tamper with the car and then there is a problem.

Moving on, after I put in about an hour of labor to figure out what your friends had done to your car, I found the bad relay and the fried ignitor chip. I replaced the relay for free but explained to you that I could not give you the ignitor chip for free. You explained that you did not bring any extra money with you to pay for the ignitor chip and then agreed to send me the money as soon as you could. You never did pay me for the ignitor chip that you yourself admitted I replaced.

Nevertheless, back to why you brought all of your friends with you to pick up the car. You told me that you did not know how to drive stick (why you would want to build a car before knowing how to drive stick is beyond me) and needed one of them to drive your car back home for you. Which is exactly what you did after i sorted out the problems they caused.

And finally, and probably most importantly, there where two other customers at my shop while ALL of this happened. I repeat, two other customers witnessed every single thing I have stated here. They are still happy customers to this day and are more than willing to verify everything i have said here today.

Those are the facts.

In response: The swap was done in Summer of 2010, if you feel you we have not fulfilled our commitment to you, why have you not since filed the law suit you are debating...? Could it be that you have no case...? Could it be that you know that any judge or jury will see that we have done nothing wrong?

It is wrong of you to take your anger out on us. We have earned a solid reputation in the 240sx community for our quality and good, honest work. Ask around. The streets don't lie.

In conclusion, we fulfilled our responsibility to you. We finished the swap on the due date and for the price we promised you. I took you for a test drive to demonstrate the engine was in good condition. We presented you with a finished product in good condition. We stand by our products. We have not sold a single bad engine in the entire time we have been in business and we intend to keep it that way.

Good luck and best wishes to all.
