hey guys i'm tryin to set the crankshaft to tdc but every time I try there is a resistance that won't let me crank it. Its like a springy kinda feeling but its not a spring. Does anyone else have this problem or am I not cranking hard enough?

Is your valvetrain assembled? I.e. are your camshafts turning with the engine? Maybe valve springs pushing against the cams, pulling against the crank?

Hopefully not valves pushing against piston!

It wasn't exactly easy to do flat on my back under the car, but I just turned the thing. It was easy enough to turn with one hand, though there was some resistance.

The valves aren't hitting, but are they moving? Is your valvetrain assembled??? Are your camshafts turning too???
