TCS= Traction Control SystemTCU= Transmission Control Unit(Module)

All Q45 automatics have a TCU.

Some Q45's have TCS.

Which one are you talking about?

So the car does not have TCS. Is this a good or bad thing? Thanks.

My '91 is a base model, so no TCS or Active Suspension.

Would I install the TCS if I had the parts laying around? No. Less weight and fewer problems to deal with.

As far as detailed positives/negatives go, you will have to wait for a member who has/had TCS on their Q to chime in.

TCS is not necessary IF you operate with the proper tires for the season --------soft fast wearing enough. TCS can be dangerous with hard aftermarket tires, pulling out from a stop, the sudden bog can get you rear ended.
