Alot has been spoken about the lights coming on and relays being the cause. But through all this, no one has said anything about the sound the system makes when good and bad. What I mean is, when you start the car, the system or pump cycles itself on and off a few times when its in good operating order. My situation is the pump runs consistently for a good 25 seconds and stop. Ofcourse the lights come on afterwards. Is it true that a bad relay would render the pump inoperable? Or would the pump still run or cycle? I picked up a set of relays and a tcs modulator just in case. Also got some taps's too.

A bad relay would make the TCS system inoperable till its replaced. But I don't think it could damage anything.

Why would you need taps?

What does the TCS Control unit in the trunk say for an error code when the diagnosis is performed?

first, disregard the statement about taps. it was a misprint from my phone.
i havent been able to check the computer due to a trunk load of interior parts. im actually in the mist of changing my interior from 91 to 94 look. main reason was for color. 94 is grey. 91 came with tan which i dislike.anyway, alot of our diagnosing is based on smell, sound, feel and look. just thought someone might have some input on the tcs pump running constant upon startup.

It could be that the TCS pump relay is stuck open? The Control Unit see's this and shuts the system down? Just a guess.

Is that what that sound is? I hear this sort of "thrum" sound but I could never figure out what it was or exactly where it was coming from. Is the TCS pump something that's normally heard? I always turn TCS off when I drive anyway, so I'm not sure if it's really big deal.

My relay sticks every so often. When I start out about 10 seconds into driving the tcs light comes on and tcs systems powers up. I pull over and remove a battery terminal to kill the DC and it resets. So far so good.
