Ok, I searched this topic, however, there is much talk about how to disable the lights but what is causing these lights to come on? Mine just started, came on but then went away the next time I started it, now it is staying on pretty constant. Just the TCS and Slip lights are on. The car is still reading "OK" on the dash. I am just unclear on where to start and should I be driving it? Seems like nothing else has changed, no noises, ect.

The usual suspects are the blue relays under the battery. They can be replaced for around $40. That will get rid of the lights.

I will start there. I assume they need to be OEM from Infiniti. Maybe Nissan can order for me, Infiniti is 3 hours away. Thanks. Checking MAF for cleanliness and connection, too.

There is a good chance that replacing the relay will fix the problem - not guaranteed, though. Aside from the relay, the problem could be due to wheel sensors, etc. There is a built-in diagnostic in your car to narrow down the problem.

When I had the same problem. I did the diagnostic and it pointed towards the relay. I bought the replacement relay for @ $30 and fixed the problem.

You need the FSM (Factory Service manual) in order to perform the built-in diagnostic, thought.

You have to indicate which model year of Q45 you have.

The relay issue did indeed solve the issue. At least in my case it did.

Hi loystock,

I have a 1994 Infiniti Q45. I will do the diagnostic, as I do have the Factory Service Manual.I'll know where to go from there. Thanks for the help.

I'm confuse your member description says 1990 Q45 yet TCS was first available on 1991 Model.I have however seen swapped instrument clusters which were not correct years substituted which had TCS/SLIP installed.

Q45 tech: I actually had 2 Q45's , a 90 and a 94, which had the TCS/Slip Problem. I was about to order the sensors, but I happened to stop in at Les Schwab to have my tires rotated, they told me that there was a bubble in my front passenger side tire. Luckily, it was covered and I got a new front tire. The TCS/Slip light never came on again since....so I figured thats what it was.

Whoa? Are you talking about the 2002 Q45 you have in your description? Haven't heard of any F50's acting up that badly.

With an issue like that, either the ECU is stuck in the failsafe/limp mode, signifying something major, or it could be your transmission.

I don't know enough about the F50 to really call it. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than I can weigh in on the situation.

Have you made your own thread detailing the problem? Others might not be able to see it buried in this thread.

Normally the owner of an expensive complicated lux car even a 7 year old one visits the dealership evey 90 days to keep everything in first class shape.

That's wny they are called lux cars because it is a luxury to maintain and keep.

I changed the two blue relays under the battery tray today, Monday. They were two "Relay-Inhibitors", part number 25230-89981. The TCS/SLIP lights are still on.

My diagnostic code was 13 led flashes. There is no malfunctioning part or unit affiliated with 13 led flashes on the diagnostic chart. How can I find out what this code is identifying as the problem?

Can anyone help?

No such thing as a code 13, redo the test and take a video of it.

Without a valid diagnostic code...very hard to tell. I replaced the ABS relay on my 97Q but that was based on the diagnostic code. Just make sure your battery and alternator are in good order - battery voltage with engine OFF is 12,5 VDC or more and with engine running is 13.8VDC or higher.

Here are some threads which may be related to your problems. Pictures are also included:

I suggest you get it checked at the dealer because you can't count right or its blinking more than it should, I Don't think your counting right (No offense).

There are codes 10 and 16 (10, 15 LED flashes) nothing really close to 13 though.
