I just purchased a 1999 Q45 with some front end damage, and it runs and drives great, only problem is both the tcs and abs dont work, there is no SLIP light, even sliding around in snow and ice, when i push the traction control button, nothing happens. No lights, nothing. Only code is bank 2 O2 sensor. Any ideas? I read somewhere that the 90-93's could be disabled by disconnecting a harness above the rear end...

Any advice for a new owner? I love this car to death already, puts a huge smile on my face just driving it. I have 2 other cars that have become projects, and I really lost all motivation just from driving this car haha. Im just worried about any preventitive maintenence (i.e. timing belt) that i dont know about.

Also, the rear sunshade doesnt seem to work, maybe jammed? It does make a click when i push the button.

Are there more desirable years for front end parts? I need a grille, passenger headlight, core support, and possibly bumper, just wondering if there were any changes in the 97-01 front end, or nice aftermarket alternatives.

And one more thing, my passenger door handle is missing the chrome trim that would continue from the handle and cover the keyhole, what would that be called? I cant find any because i dont know what they are haha.

Sorry about all the questions, but i didnt want to make 10 threads for a few simple questions.

Welcome to NICO

Where are you located? Who many miles does your Q have?

You are in luck because Q45s do not use timing belts.. Only the 90-93 model had plastic guides that need to be replaced with metal guides.

Yeah i heard about the chain guides, good to hear its just 90-93! Im in metro detroit, and the car has 120,000, but seems to run and drive like new!

Have you checked the Service Manual for TCS and ABS diagnostics?
