Hi there, Earlier this weekend I took a(what I thought to be pretty soft) buff wheel on a dremel to the inside of my TB. I'v been slowly checking and cleaning all the exterior engine components. It had been sitting exposed to the environment for aprox. a year before this. There was plenty of rust(on plate) and built-up corrosion on the walls that I wanted to get rid of. I tried degreaser and TB cleaner with no luck.

Anyways, I noticed(albeit too late) that I had actually taken some material off the walls. The picture best explains. I would like to know if this slim 'always open' position will pose any problems down the road. I figure this will bump my idle up, but does it look like the idle adjust will be insufficient? Fuel efficiency? Possibly throw off the A/F ratio(ECU see's closed throttle, when in fact not). I read a post that suggested a user to replace or repair their cracked TB.

Just FYI this is a N/A rebuild for the time being(future turb).

Thanks for your time,-Jamie

Hands-down, replace it. Simple. Oh and dont do that with a dremel again. It looks like you did a poor job to bore it out to like 62mm or something. Use aircraft aluminum stripper next time :)

2BN: Thanks for the firm response... it's a good thing I have another TB from my original eng.
