I was messing around with my engine today an noticed that the TB has coolant running through it. So I decided to reroute the line so that is bypasses the throttle body an goes into the return line. I havent heard of any other 240 doing this, I know Spec V owners have done this because it eliminates hot coolant running through the trottle body an they say its stays alot cooler. I seriously doubt theres any big gain from this but it should keep air temps down which cant hurt. I was wondering though this shouldnt hurt anything because since I havent heard of any other 240 doing this I was wondering if it might disrupt something. Enjoy!

tb coolant lines are to eliminate frosting of the throttle body in cold driving conditions on most cars. I dont know if this is why nissan implemented it or not. I dont see much downside to trying it unless you live in a cold climate and your throttle gets stuck

yea its mostly a cold climate thing to keep your TB from freezing, but if you live in florida or SoCali its not really needed

How do you reroute, and would it be bad for somewhere in VA? We get snow, but I'm sure I can make this a spring, summer, early fall mod lol!

ThanksChris

just look at ur throttle body an ull see the coolant lines an just take on line an run it back into the return line. Its too hard to explain but its quite self explainatory when you look at it. I really dont see why it would hurt in va because cold airs better an way i think its just to keep your throttle body from frosting. It takes like 5min so you could try it when its cold an if it doesnt hurt anything leave it an if it does just wait till it warms up.

Cold air is better but you cant have your throttle plate sticking open now can you. And for the split second the air is in the TB its not going to heat up much anyhow.

The frost on the throttle blades is only at startup. After the engine warms up it should be fine. I am looking at a Car Craft magazine right now that says that this simple mod on an LT1 V8 is worth 3-5 hp. By the way, does anyone know where you can get a lower temp themostat for a KA?Thanks, Scotty

youll see 2 lines going into the throttle body all you have to do is disconnect both of them an remove one of the rubber hoses all together than use the one thats left to connect to where you removed that hose.

O I have no Idea about those, But it seems like they could be removed. I wouldnt know but the motor Im puttin in my car Ive removed all emmisions ps/ac alot of uneccesary vaccuum lines an cleans up the engine bay quite nicely. Im sure it will have a rough idle but it doesnt bother me.

I think your thinking of the IACV E Dogg, that is DEFINITELY something you dont want to remove.
