TB cleaning

I'll probably be cleaning my TB tomorrow, but am wondering if you guys that have done it, removed the whole assembly to clean the back of the butterflies or just sprayed and cleaned directly.

hold the throttle plate open with a rag wedged between the cable and the rotating drum use a second rag to wipe the back side of the plate. saturate the rag with carb clean then wipe it off. while its open clean the bore with the same saturated rag. use a soft cloth nothing corse.
