i pulled my ka today and saw that the speed sensor for a manual transmission is like a cylinder, a little circle cylinder thats metal and is held together by one screw (philips) to the transmission.

i dont know about that one i can check tmr but my trannny is so dirty its horrible

the sensors on the transmission dont really matter except for the speed sensor of course. with the 5 speed swap.there are three or four of these type sensors down the side of the transmission.hook an ohm meter up to them and shift through the gears when you get a reading that is the sensor it is conected to. the auto lower harness does not have a place for these to plug into. so why worry?just remember to loop the park nutral switch so you can start your car.this is the 8g black and white wires that are together on one plug under the fuse box on the left side of your engine bay. assuming your car is an s13 im not sure for the s14.

hope this helps.

I belive thats your revers light switch. Take it out and see if its it like a switch that you push in. If your gonna want your reverse lights to work then your gonna want that.

When I did my 5 speed swap all the sensors and wiring were cut and I did not fix any of it. IMHO, it's actually better with no sensors because then you have no limiters or governers or any of that electronic BS.

the only sensors that need to be hooked up on your transmission is the speed sensor which is located sorta the back of the transmission near where the driveshaft enters the transmission

You absolutely do not need an new ECU. Your car will work perfectly fine. You don't need to hook up any wires on the transmission to make it work. Some people think a swapped manual is better than stock because it loses all the computer BS.

A new ka24 engine is cheaper than a new ECU.

IIRC a/t bellhousing bolts will not work and new m/t bolts are recommended anyway. One of the m/t bolts (I believe it is the 75 mm bolt) is no longer available and will need to be sourced from a hardware store- verify thread pitch, etc. Check out this link for bellhousing bolt information and a step by step swap. Also check out the parts list from 94_240sx at the beginning of the thread. Good luck!
