I was at the road course for an open track day today. So much fun. My car dynoed at a whopping 92.6 whp here in Albuquerque (5200 feet and automatic transmission) and yet I was able to tax a modded RSX Type S and a stock WRX. They pulled on the front straight of course, but I was on 'em again by turn two.

In case you're wondering, I shift the auto like a sequential gearbox, including downshifts while blipping the throttle. It works pretty damn good, but I do wish for another gear and some closer ratios.

Well, on my 4th session, the "Service Engine Soon" light came on. Nothing seemed amiss, but I decided to call it a day.

When I got home, I checked the code on the ECU (It's a '98 SE with an automatic, BTW.) and got 7 long, brief pause, 3 long, brief pause, 8 short, long pause, and the code repeats again. So, that's 738. I looked it up, but couldn't find it. Not on five different sites or the factory service manual! I reset the ECU, drove it for 20 minutes, and it hasn't come back yet. (Fingers crossed.)

Anybody else ever had this code or seen it in any manual? Looks like it could have been a temporary condition, but I'd rather know what it was just to be safe.

Sounds like an A/T Comm Line Code

Yeah, it's in the same range as the other A/T codes, but that specific one is not listed. Drove for an hour today, and it still hasn't returned.

Working on that RSX and WRX at the track sure was a lot of fun. I can't wait until I get my turbo setup on and a set of 245s. Then those cars will see their true owner.

Sounds to me like it was a transmission fluid temp signal... since you were loading up the transmission so much the fluid gets hot and the transmission can then slip a little.
