you would take it out to make it look like a clean a**, STRIPPED interior.otherwise, leave it.. or get some dry ice and chisel it off. then get some heavy aftermarket sound deadener.

get dry ice. I used a chizzle and hammer and it worked just took longer. The floor pans come off easy anyway its just that some parts are actually really glued on which are a b**** to get off.

I did it cause I was gonna leave my interior stripped and paint it, but then I decided to throw back in pretty much the ful interior lol.maybe in summer Ill take it ou and paint it, but your exhaust will drone pretty loudalso the s*** adds weight, i could barely lift the garbage bag up after i filled it up with the deadener

It's sound deadner, leave it. If you're not going to strip your interior, why in the world would you take it out?

I stripped all the tar crap out of mine b/c its not really sound deadener and also to make sure there was no rust hiding under it. After I got everything stripped down I painted with rust bullet and applied new sound deadener. $15-20 of dry ice makes fast work of that tar

Stripped interior WITH sound deadening is FAIL.

If you're going to strip out the car, you need to go all the way.

the reason poeple even do it, is to save weight, If your just putting everything back in there, you wont even notice the benifit of removine the tar. you would be defeating the purpose of doing so.

However, if you remove everything, including the tar, you are effectively removing a nice amount of weight, in doing so, your car will become more and more "raw" feeling, so, if you enjoy creature comforts, this wont be for you.

I'm sorry, I don't see the point of what you're doing. Why are you going to remove the tar if you're going to put the interior back in? That's just a waste of time.

Not really I acutally found some surface rust under that tar crap, not all of us are lucky enough to live in a hot dry climate And why put sound deadener on top of the tar and add more weight, remove it then sound deaden and its about an even exchange
