Today i drove across what looked like 2 18 gallon drums of paint dumped out on the road.

Got home and soon realized it was oil based, ran up to the car wash and water did nothing.

It got mainly in the fender welds, two driver side tires and all over the bottom of both right side doors.

Specs all over the right side of the car. Its a mess, and im pissed.

any tips? Ill be doing a bunch of net searching tonight.

Ha and last week i was so proud of myself for finding the dryer sheet bug gut tip. Man, this might take the entire washing machine to fix.

I have used TarX with great success. It's also derived from natural sources.

I guess if the typical tar cleaners do not work, there is always a claybar.

if it dries, you are kinda fked. wet sanding might help you out. but you have to be SUPER careful with our ultra thin paint job

Here is pictures of the second set of cleaning and scraping with goo off and a credit card, where i had worked mostly on the paint.
Third session i had a bucket of water and a heavy bristle brush on the inside of the fender welds.

Next im going to get a pressure washer and hit the fender welds again and the tread of the tires.

dont worry about the tires. the paint will flake off very soon. the wheel wells can be simply sprayed with a matt-like paint. id only worry about the painted area's

^ Yep.

Clay bar should take care of most of it, or GooGone.

I had a pristine, pearl white '95 Q45, and some crackhead b**** threw a half-gallon of gloss black automotive paint all over it (and it sat for a couple days, as I was out of town).

I took it straight to a paint shop and begged them to save it - They were really cool, and actually allowed me to help with the job (to keep the price down). Several hours with acetone-soaked cotton swabs and white rags , followed by a thorough clay bar, buffing, and polishing, and a coat of OptiKote.

It'll be fine - Take your time, and don't worry about the wheel WELLS ( :) ).

In fact, that's a good time to pull off the wheels, mask of the body and suspension, and shoot the wheel wells with a couple coats of truck bedliner.
