tapping sound when the heater is on

today was a wicked bad sonow day and didn't hear it in the morning but after class i had the car stated from my class and when i came to my car i heard a somewhat loud sound. well actually it sounded more like a metal tapping sound first i thought my engine was going to crap out, i opened the hood and sounded like it was cumming from by the alternator. but when i switch the heater off it went away and the car was quit with the engine running as usual. but i had the heater on coz it was clod the car ran fine and after the engine got hot it went away. is it something i should be worried about?

mine does that too sometimes, i think there is a thread for the noisy heater fan...do a search!!

thanks bro found the answer after about 2hrs of searching, looks like its not a big deal after all and not worth the trouble to fix it. and yea the spelling i wrote it right after i work up so i was like half sleep lol.

finally fixed it the car is quite again woooo hoooo. but yea it came form one of those fans behind the radiator and for my luck there was a totaled 98 maxima laying in the back so i was able to grab the fan motor off it and replaced it
