Tapping noise...

My friend has a problem with his '98 240sx SE.There is a hard clicking noise coming from around the fuel rail of the KA24DE. We can't tell if it's from the crankcase or the valves. What my friend does believe is that the stock injectors are messing up. When a stock injector is clogged does it make a click sound? A week ago the car was missing badly in what seemed to be bad spark plug wire but the "missing" went away. He has a set of S14 SR20DET injectors. Should we plug those in to see if that takes away the problem? Or should we try Seafoam for the car and see if it takes it away? Or are we totally wrong in our assumptions of the fuel injectors and it's something else.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

all nissan injectors are really loud. however if your prob is abnormally loud then i would pull the valve cover and look around for broken stuff.

Sounds like a stuck injector that is trying to open... they get louder when they do that.

You also might want to check the lash on the intake side camshaft as incorrect lash makes a loud noise as well.

Chae's '97. LOL thanks Nismo_Freak. We tried the other SR injectors. Holy hell did that thing run rich but it didn't solve the tapping noise. He said he has the calculations for the valve lash, but he said something about him figuring it out.

Side Note : Nismo_Freak, I could always use someone to trust/recommend our cars to. Hell I love Austin especially drinking in Austin. LOL. It's closer than some of my friends in Houston that speacialize in Nissan's. When I get my car back I'd love to take a trip up there to check out Silviawerks. :ylsuper
