tapped rear main oil seal in too far?

i must of lubed up my rear main oil seal too well? i tapped it in and it all of a sudden slid in, is this ok?

would u really have to rtv the housing? its a seal. And doesnt it have to be all the way down anyways or just flush. Im asking bc I have to do 1 myself

fsm says to rtv around the edges, not on the actual seal itself.

You RTV the rear main cover, as in the thing with 4 bolts that you installed the rear main into.

You do not RTV the seal itself.

yeah i rtv'd the housing, you guys can't tell in the pics? i ran my finger across the top to make it nice a smooth.
