Here is a quick review on the Tanabe Super Medalion Hyper Spec Exhaust with the Tanabe Y-Pipe. I ordered the system from a local shop called Auto Accessory Warehouse Friday night. I was told about a 3-4 week backorder as with every other shop I tried. Well, I got it last night! All I can say is they hooked me up. You might have seen them on MTV's tuner show (forgot what it was called). Great guys and awesome shop.

Ok, getting back to the exhaust. All I can say is WOW! The craftsmanship is top notch. I've dealt with many companies from my previous WRX, EVO, and Firebird and Tanabe is by far the best I've seen. The welds are so smooth and perfect. They packaged the system very well too.

My buddy Will and I picked up the system and installed it in 45 minutes. If anyone in So Cal wants a perfect install for a great price let me know. Will has worked on all my cars and does not charge an arm and leg some places. I called around and the lowest I got was $80.00 installed. They all said about an hour and a half install time as well. It was very easy to install. All the bolts came off with a spray or two of WD-40. The fitment of the Tanabe Y-Pipe and Super Medalion exhaust were perfect. Again, all I can say is WOW!

I had to take off to work right after the install and again WOW! I'm not going to say that it added 10whp. All I know is the sound was perfect. Deep, aggressive, throaty and cruising speed was calm and practical. Deepest sound was from around 2500 to 4500 rpm. I want it louder so I'll be adding Invidia Test Pipes in a few months.

Here is a vid and some pics. Any questions let me know. Thanks for reading.

Looks nice. I would have went with a true dual exhaust though.

Is it really that big of a difference on these cars... other than sound? Especially if they are considerably stock? I could see having a twin turbo or even a supercharger, aiming for more VE, but seriously without some major flow work done (ei: head work), I doubt there is that big of a difference between true dual and Y pipes.

But thats probably just your opinion on true dual over y pipes, in my opinion if I were to put an exhaust on my Z I would simply get one from the Y pipe back (like this one) saving myself $400 or more on a true dual. But thats me, I don't make $50/hour to just throw away $400 for another 3 horsepower.

Tanabe has some of the nicest exhausts out for a wide variety of cars, I really love tanabe, had the ultra medallion on my wrx and it sounded absolutely amazing.

You make more power with true dual exhaust. Especially if you have forced induction.

With a true dual dont you see about double the gain of a Y-pipe or single exhaust? I think thats pretty worth it and the sound is amazing! It allso readys your car for bigger and better mods that may be done in the future.

With the stock style single exhaust you get about 5 whp, but with the dual exhaust you get anywhere from 10-15 whp.

I got both the Tanabe Y-Pipe and Tanabe Hyper Medalion for a packaged deal. Let just say I got it for under a grand! But I've seen the Y-Pipes going for as little as $375 and the exhaust for $650. My buddy can install it for $50 buck and will have it done in less than an hour. We did mine in my garage in 45 minutes. The shop is less than 5 miles away from my house too.

Yes it will fit the 07. I love it so far. Still planning on getting test pipes to make it a little louder as well as intakes.

Any other questions let me know.
