does anyone have any experiance with these coils? i am looking into picking up a set because i am in the process of building up a budget drift car. so if anyone could drop in and give a review that would be great.

also, im building a track only budget drift car so if anyone has any other suggestions for cheap coils that will do the job well enough for a begginer feel free to chime in.

if your car is 95% daily driver with some spirited driving and the occasional drift event then these coils will be ample for your needs.

it says it uses stock upper pillow ball mounts, though, is that a bad thing?

not really. just means its not pillowball with camber adjustment. most daily driven 240's dont "need" this, but if you want you can get cusco or tein mounts and still be under the price of megans (in most cases).

hmmm.. if im going to spend the money i would want camber adjustment so i might end up going with the megans. for a drift only car would you suggest the tracks or streets?

hmm. ive only ridden on megan streets, not on the tracks. streets should be just fine for what you are going for.

I have the Tanabe Sustec S-OC Type II's. I will put these agaist any Megan or Ksports out there. They have excellent valving , and perfect feel & rebound. Only thing is , they are'nt 42 way adjustable , wich is a good thing more for me , because they feel perfect with the default factory settings. Also , they dont have Upper Pillow Ball Mounts , but i got a great deal on a Cusco pair from injectedperformance.com.

You will lose out if you get Megans. Tanabe is way above in quality , and you cant beat the price - $765.

thanks slappy, im really glad you showed up! so maybe i have been swayed again towards the tanabes. is it necessary to get the upper camber mounts right off the bat? or could i run with stock mounts for awhile? also is there any other upper mounts that are maybe cheaper? im on a tight budget for this build. Thanks, TJG

Good choice.

Nope , you can run stock upper mounts. And if you want to adjust front camber , you can do what i did when i had my Tokicos and get a pair of H&R Camber Bolts.

Here are some rear upper mounts by HKS.

But they are not adjustable. You dont use upper mounts in the rear to adjust camber , you use aftermarket Rear Upper Control Arms.

Sorry for the bump, but about how much is the drop on these coils? I know I should be looking for the best quality and I'm going to be asked why put coils on a DD, but I'm tired of my wheel gap. They are cheaper than the Megans, which have the reputation of being bouncy, and Slappy seems to swear by them. I just want to know about how they will look with a 16" wheel. Thanks for the help guys

Thanks man, that's exactly what I needed. They were on ebay brand new for $642 a few days ago, but now they're gone so I'll get them elsewhere. Thanks again, you answered my question exactly.
