Hell, it's surprisingly useful just for daily driving. If you're about to hit a bump or dip in the road, crank down the dampening really quickly.
The automatic mode's useful for just about anything really. Keeps the ride the way you want it all the time. If you're about to get on the highway and don't want a really bouncy ride for example, you can set it to automatically increase the dampening so you don't have to mess with anything, and the ride becomes a lot more comfortable.
I personally think it's worth the money even if you're not tracking.
