Has anyone put this on their V? I'm so tempted to get one but I want to wait for my warranty to expire. How does it sound and perform?

I listened to all the exhausts. I like how the stillen sounds, but I like the appearance of the tanabe. The Greddy tC is nice but I have to look around for one that's for the V.

I'm going to decide between the tanabe or the Greddy tC exhaust now. I will make the decision based on how much money I want to spend and which one suits my needs based on performance.

When I purchase the exhaust, I plan to get that installed within a close timeframe with the rims so they compliment each other. For the mean time...

I have to agree with you, the stillen one is the best sounding for the versa. for the altima it's really doesn't sound the same on the V6 and I prefer the tanabe but on that versa the tanabe definitely sounds bad

tanabe is just a tanabe muffler.. whats the difference and its like 150$ more

tanabe - $378? +shippingstillen - $229+ free shipping from stillen (cause its on sale Special! $229.08 Buy)

http://www.stillen.com/product...VERSA

You tell me whats the better deal. So close to $400 for ONLY a axle back after shipping? you must be smoking some crazy s*** to pay that much.

Yeah the tanabe sounds terrible on the versa.

You can always custom the rest. There just isn't quite the demand yet.

I went with an ebay knock off muffler for $50 shipped and got the piping from the catback custom made. The only problem I had with the muffler is that the inside of the tip appeared to be rusting so I sanded it down and sprayed a couple of primer coats on it with a paint that is supposed to withstand 500 degrees of heat. If you want to spend 250-300 dollars on a muffler that is essentially the same go for it, I just don't see the point.

not our fault they dont make a full catback, besides for a axle back for 229 isnt back compared to most apexi mufflers are over 200 just for a muffler

cause stock exhaust is better than some s***ty crush bent exhaust, most bends with a crush bender crush roughly 50% of the piping to make a bend, also ebay mufflers are trash. You get what you pay for.

There is a catback made. And is easy to get a shop to make one. Just saying that just getting an axle back is almost the pure definition of 'rice'.

okay, in what way? its not some super flashy neon lights nor is it some crazy body kit.. whatever man. You people have a real crooked opinion on things.

Most exhaust shops do crush bends, i do not want crush bends id rather leave it stock then have some trashy custom exhaust on my car. The stillen/tanabe axle backs i dont see at all how you can call them "rice"

Just lock this thread its pointless.

An axle back alone is just added for looks and sound. It doesn't improve the flow of the exhaust, therefore no improvement of the engine's output. Its basically like putting a can muffler on the stock piping.

Just because a part is well made and is a good company brand, doesn't mean it isn't 'rice'. It depends on how it is used, such as people with high end $500+ CF wings on the back of their 100hp FWD car.

You can find shops that will mandrel bend a front section to add to the axle back, or just get a catback (BRM/other).

Thats not necessarily 100% true. All cars respond to mods differently. Ill search for it again, but a 2007 Mitsu eclipse with a v6 gained roughly 5whp more over a stock axle back with a magnaflow muffler.

I plan on making a midpipe for my car soon, which i can just bolt on to the stillen axle back i have. Which shouldnt be that much maybe on the high side $200 with mandrel bends, which still cheaper than a Greddy or apexi full catback, the old Greddy SP i had on my SE-R was $580, so if i spend $429 on a full catback thats not bad.

But on a Versa you are looking at MAYBE a 1hp gain for an axle back that can cost over $300. And yeah around $400 for a catback is good, hence I recommended the BRM.

I have a catback system that at the time ran me over $600, but I wouldn't spend that much on a catback again, there are cheaper options for S13s. And there will/should be more options soon for the Versa.

I didn't say that to trash the ebay muffler lol. I'd rather pay 55 dollars for a muffler and paint than 280 for a brand name muffler which is VERY similar. Calm down big guy.

I'm going to wait for Greddy to release the Ti-C exhaust when there is more demand for it. I don't have to get one custom made right now. Patience is a great people!

Of the clips, the Stillen is the best. If you want a exhaust system just for looks, then spending $600 for the look of a tip is pretty silly. Just get a tip you like and have a muffler shop weld it on for you.

If you want power, $600 for 5hp gain at the most is not very cost effective. Save up for a car with more power, or get organized and convince one of the several tuners to make a supercharger kit.

I always thought that blind_snypers custom exhaust sounded a lot better than the premade ones... but that's just me.

It's not bad. And no disrespect to him, it sounds too "puffy" to me. It doesn't rip like the others do, but you can hear a bit of that in the first few seconds of the clip before the rpms climb. It could be the recording equipment or youtube compression messing it up.

Personally, I prefer a smoother, fuller sound, like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AEyoBzkCBQ4 The Stillen one is the closest but still not what I'd like. It's tricky to make a small, naturally aspirated 4 cylinder sound good. Not moving enough air to get a good resonance. Pipe and muffler have to be just the right size and it's hard too figure that out. Too large and it sounds boomy or as others put it, rip a**. It's a subjective thing... what sounds good to me doesn't necessarily sound good to others.

I like the way this sounds too: http://www.abhd.nl/video/alfa-...zione/ (the car, not Dutch—which sounds very strange.)

i think the "puffy" is a combination of the crappy digital camera, and the fact that the muffler was still fairly new (not broke/wore in).

btw, that was in no way disrespectful.

Practically the same engine in the Alfa 8c. If I win the lottery, it'd be a touch call as to which of the two to get. Pipe dream...
