As a lot of you guys have lowering springs and strut bars, I have a couple of questions:

- Is there a "break in" for Tanabe springs? I thought it's not, but I see improvements over time (I have them for 2 weeks), especially over potholes - no more bumping noise.

- After lowering springs, how will the handling improve by installing a strut bar?

Tehre isn't any break-in period for the strut bar. There isn't much force on it in order to warp/transform/mold it any more. Just the bolts might settle down a bit more and tighten, but that's all. hehe

In the end everythig works out just like it's supposed if done right.

Sorry for confusion - mea culpa Let me explain: I know there is no break in for strut bar. I wonder how much the handling will improve with a strut bar - I already lowered it with Tanabe springs.

Springs do 'settle' over time. Usually a month or two the springs will be sitting in their normal position.

You probably won't notice much of a difference with a strut bar. I think they can help a little, but its just not much improvement.

I could tell the difference the first time I drove to work through Topanga Cyn, the body roll was reduced considerably!! I bought the Stillen bar and like a lot of you thought there might be a little improvment. the guys at Siphon and Sport Import Tuner magazines ( I work with them) said it would make a difference. It was the best $135 I have ever spent!!

I couldn't agree anymore than that, and I too believe that there is a pretty nice difference. I actually got my Fit friend one, too because I enjoyed the added maneuverability.

Honestly,

I love the way that the Tanabe springs finally settled around January of this year!

A strut tower bar will most definitely make a difference as well, I would highly suggest getting a good quality, strong one in order to complete the kit... It helps with 3 things:

1. Body Roll in corners2. General stability of the car on highways and other major roadways3. Holding the front of the car nice and steady on acceleration, especially on wet roads.

im sure all the strut bars perform close to the same but i love my dc strut bar, i noticed a huge difference in my cornering, less body roll considerably keeps the car level, and it just looks mean and beefy :-P
