What do you tall people do to not hit your head on the roof of S14's? I've had a few friends who have seen my other thread tell me I should fix it and keep it. I was thinking I could cut the mounting points and weld a new piece in flush to the floor board and get a different mounting bracket. Just curious cause I'm 6'2" and hit my head just sitting in the car.

Well unless I pull it in close and lay the seat way back I hit my head right at the back of the sunroof. And I really hate lying down to drive.

There's the problem! You have a sunroof, I believe that the sunroof sits a little lower than the actually roof. I would advise either modifying your brackets or buying aftermarket seat and brackets.

Talk to Miata guys, they know how to make people fit!

You can bolt the seat to the floor, or if its a stock seat you can cut some of the foam out of the bottom.

I guess I must sit to straight up then (not really) It's just not comfortable for me to drive and sit so laid back especially if I go up to the dragon. I guess I'll just stick to my Z, more comfy!

I feel your pain man, I used to have a 97 se with a sunroof and I had to lay the seat way back just to get some headroom. I never got the chance to work out a solution, my sister totalled my car. I've got a little more headroom in my current car, 93 hatch. I'm still thinking about making some custom seat brackets. If you figure anything out let me know.

I had a 93 coupe with a sunroof and I had plenty of room in it too. I guess I'll just sell it and get another coupe or maybe a convertible. I may even keep it since my truck is getting rediculuos on gas these days and the TT isn't much better. I even sold the J to my mom cause she has a Titan that is drinking her dry too.

I'm only 5'10'' and with a sunroof, my head hits when I wear a helmet for a track day / autox. I do sit far forward-ish, but its still annoying.

Should probably remove the sunroof one of these days.

Never really had a problem with S14 either with or w/o sunroof. My S13 coupe with sunroof I have to do a bit of laying back/ducking. I'm 6'4".

My Vert I have not issues at all.

Im 6'6, 230lbs and i fit fine in my s14 w/sunroof and my s13 hatch. the only time head room is an issue is when it comes to wearing a helmet, then i just lay the seat back a little more.

PS: my s13 has a cage with door bars also.
