As my car is reaching 90000km and its slipping like crazy in the wet weather.

i am finally thikning about getting a new set of summer tires....

i have been doing a little search on my own over the past few days and it seems like a lot of people have had positive experience with Falken FK452 and Falken ZE512.

So i sent an email to a local shop yesterday and here is the reply that i got from them---------------------------------------------

The Falken 512 are now discontinued .What we can get are Falken 912 225/45ZR18 for 225.00 and rear 245/45ZR18 are 256.00 each plus install.

The Falken 452 front are 273.00 and the rear are 274.00 each plus install if you put the 40 series tires on it will throw off your speedo it is not recommended by our supplier---------------------------------------------

Can anybody tell me if this is true that Falken 512 is now discontinued??

Because I am still able to see this tire on their official website http://www.falkentire.com/

Also. why is Fallken 452 not recommended by his supplier while everyone else on this forum seem to fall in love with this tire??

my last question is...on the manual it says I need 225/45WR18 (Fr), 245/45R18 (Rr)

then would it be a problem if i put 225/40r18 (fr) and 245/40r18 (rr) on my car??The reason I ask is because it seems like Falken 512 only has 225/40/18 and 245/40/18 available..

oh and finally..can anyone recommend some other tires?? i am looking for somethign that has a long tread life with a little bit of performance taste. but i aint looking to bring my car on the track or lower it..)

I have a 04 G35 Couple with 18" OEM rims if that helps..

your help is much appreciated....

i have 235 40 18 in the front and 255 40 18 in the rear it didnt really throw my speedometer off jus because i went up in size and lower profilw but u should be ok with the smaller profile its gonna look funny cuz ur gonna have a lot of space between the wheel-well and the tire. ur really not gonna get that much life out of any tires due to the fact that u cant rotate the tires. i believe that tread wear on most of the front tire a between 280- 320 which is only like 25,000 to 30,000 miles i really like the BF goodrich kdw's they r pretty good for traction on dry weather. also the pirelli P-zero nero mud and snow tire high preformace on all weather. and also try not to get directonal tire they look cool but then u can switch the tire from side to side that will prevent ur tire from feathering. those r my two favorite tires but look it up on tirerack.com they can be pretty cheap on there.

I have Falken FK-452's on my 05 g35 sedan. they are 245-40-18.I have had no problems with my spedo. I got nailed by radar going 91 and when i looked at the spedo I was going 90. so i think its o.k.The falken's are good tires with lotys of grip.Don't know about wet traction... I live in So Cal. it hasn't rained here in a year......
