I got a 97 i39 with about 110k miles. I got the check engine light on, from a possible knock sensor, but had that replaced with no luck. been quoted to have both of my wheel assembly hubs in the rear for 840, i been told i need front strut work for 560. motor mounts for 880

For the most part the car runs fine, just beat up. Do those prices seem right? anyone know of a good infiniti service in charlotte?

Luckily an I30 is just a fancied up Maxima and all mechanicals are identical.

With brakes and tires one must assume a minimal prorated $1300-$1500 per year cost to maintain with the standard 90 day service interval.

Be happy, after 100k and/or 10 years it is all downhill with wear and tear finally beginning to show up but the V6 never ever reaches the costs of a V8 model and heavier vehicles.

I don't know a thing about them, but these guys look interesting... it might be worth stopping by and getting their opinion on your issues. Please let us know what you think if you use them - we're always looing for good independent shops to recommend.

In metro ATL we have 5 Infiniti dealers and numerous independents who specialize in Nissan the RETAIL PARTS all cost the same, however the labor rate is about $30-$40 per hour less due to lack of loaners, and less fancy waiting rooms.

The average visit is 1.5 hours x 4 per year so a savings of $180-$240 per year.

One must calculate the REAL cost per mile to determine whether an out of state/area visit makes sense.
