this is a nice build so far. as for the brake caliper brackets... they spindles are made from cast steel, anyone who says you cant weld cast steel has never done it or doesnt know how to weld. thats like saying you cant weld cast aluminum. which EVERYONE knows is very possible.

i think his welds look fine. all of them have penetration and are going to hold. although i would have personally used actual 1/2" plates instead of the 2 1/4" plates for the brackets. but you could always do some extra plug welds for extra safety. i dont think your going to have a problem.
