Hi guys,

As you know I took out the A/C Evaporator core and found some food/dirt/etc but no rodent (looks like I don't have one in the car, it probably jumped ship) in the right side of the black box. Everything in the heater core looks to be very clean.

How do I now remove the blower (to the right of the black box under glove box in S14) so I can check if anything there and if it needs to be cleaned?

From where goes the blower run from? Black box (A/C Evaporator core) << Blower << ???

I'm trying to find out where the heck the path was the jerk travelled by so I can clean everthing.

The fight against the evil mouse goes on

Thanks

*Note - I have succeeded in removing 75% of the smell! *

To remove the blower. Undo the three screw at the bottom and it will drop out.

Thanks for the help, you don't happen to have a picture? I can't find the screws lol. Tons of wires (like the airbag) etc. etc.

Sorry I'm new at this

Hi,

I found the screws but do I just discounnect the airbag wire and the other wire?

Also one screw is behind a piece of metal box which is located below the fan, how do I get to that screw. Its on the farthest to the seat.

Thanks!

No you do not touch the airbag connector at all to get the blower motor out. As a mater of fact you may not even need to remove the glove box assembly. If you look up from the passenger floor board you should see 3 screws in a triangular shape. Those three screws are what holds you motor in the case. It is the same piece the 2 wire connecotr for the motor is plugged into.

Thanks for the help! Good thing I checked before messing around with it LOL.

Yes, I saw the 3 screws in the triangular shape and tried to unscrew them but then my mind thought they probably where not screws since I was always unable to get a grip. Are the screws X or - ?

I shall try tomorrow, THANKS once again!

I meant what type of head? Phillips, PoziDriv, Robertson and SupaDriv heads (crosspoint), Torx, Hex?

Also I just picked up the book "Chilton's Nissan 240SX/Altima 1993-98 Repair Manual" which helps, but they state for the blower motor I need to:1. Disconnect the negative battery cable2. Remove glove box3. Disconnect the blower motor electrical harness4. Disconnect the blower motor cooling tube, as required.5. Remove the screws that attach the blower motor to the heater unit.6. Remove the blower motor from the car.

^^^ If anyone needs that info in the future

Thanks

I figured it all out, but it wasn't as easy as just removing the 3 screws and dropping it. I had to remove the screws for a metal box, I think its called the EMS Relay Unit to get to the back screw, and it wasn't just 3 screws.

Anyhow I found a piece of dog food in every single slot of the blower Cleaned everything, put it back, then the cooling unit box and everything seems good.

But I noticed right after there is a weird passenger power window problem, I can lower the window from my driver side but if it sits for every minutes I can't raise it back up unless I lean over and use the passenger control... Any idea's as to how this happened, I was extremely careful working around the EMS Relay Unit.

Thanks for all the conintued help!!
