taking out and refurbishing handle-key-lock on door

yeah so i wonder how i can do this... i want to take it out so i can repaint it (the handle, surrounding thing around the handle and clean up the keyhole... as it was painted by someone over).

also the actual mechanism in the door... its collected alot of dust and isnt greased up etc... after a good 15 years.... and im sure a little refurbishing and cleaning would make it sound better and work better and just be better...

how can i do this?

you can access the door handle from the inside of the door panel. Pop off the interior pieces and get the plastic sheet moved over to the side, undo the metal rods and the two or so nuts holding the handle in place.
