But be CAREFUL not to damage it.
He has an S13 coupe. On these, the quarter panel windows have the stock rubber trim attached to the window. DO NOT CUT/TAKE THIS OFF THE WINDOW. If you break it or cut it (like I did...) you'll have to buy a whole new window, or run strip-less Because:
Nissan does not sell this weather stripping by itself, only attached to the new qp window. You can't use a generic either, it's a very specific style of stripping. I learned this the hard way. Either have it professionally removed, or you're going to need to get a window removal kit and hope you do good... The windshield and rear window doesn't really matter... I used a damn steak knife to take out my rear window. It took forever but it worked! Use a heat gun.
The stock chrome pieces (I think you're talking about the metal that goes above the doors and across the roofline-ish.) slide off. At the top of the quarter panel window there is a clip that it attaches to. This is hard to explain without pictures... But that whole metal piece in it's 3 foot long entirety will slide towards the rear of the car.
The rear window chrome pieces you can remove from the trunk. Then just cut the rest of the stripping around the window and lift it out. The windshield I've never removed but I bet it is similar. Hope this helps.
Most window places can come to your house and do it for you. You'll have to get a quote but it can be done for maybe $10 a window is a guess. They have tools that make it easy.
Hoffman: I had two of my windows put back in (including window glue and the best weather stripping you can get) for $60. I'd imagine they could replace the stripping for less than that. It all depends on where you go, you can usually get a quote on the phone, it's rather easy. Good luck!
