Hey guys,

Wanted to know if anyone could give me instructions on how to take the head off a Redtop SR20det. I have to get the studs replaced and was going to pay a someone to do it, but I rather do it myself. I don't have much mechanical talent so if its really complicated please let me know if I should have it done professionally or what. Thanks alot

I'd definitly recommend getting it done at a professional shop.....you dont want to have any studs broken : )

but in all honesty, it is a very labor related job, and if you dont have the tools, and knowledge to do, you would be better off taking it to a shop...

LOL, thats the reason I have to take the head off. When I was putting the Exhaust manifold back on after changing the turbo gaskets, the one stud snapped. Then when we were trying to get it out with the easy out, the tip of the easy out snapped. Now I have to take off the head and bring it to a machine shop and have all the studs upgraded. I am going to upgrade all the gaskets too so I can run more boost.
