im getting basically every symptom of the TSB ITB12-021b for the 7AT trans in my M. i believe its the same TSB they applied to all the 2011 G37s as well. i first tried to get the dealer to do it about 6 months ago and they told me it only applied to the Gs no the Ms. i didnt have the printout with me. im going back for service so going to try again. Those of you that have had this done any pointers? im hoping they will just apply the update and not try and charge me some excessive labor rate for it.

copy paste from the TSB below for the symptoms. applies to all 2011 and some early 2012 M37/M56

That the customer has experienced or is experiencing:
• Harsher than expected down shifts when coasting to a stop.
• Hesitation/lag when accelerating after coasting.
• Hesitation/lag or harsher than expected down shifts when coming to a stop and accelerating again (rolling stop).
• Engine rev matching during moderate to heavy braking.

I have been meaning to call and find out if and how much they charge for installing it. I need it done too.

I've noticed the rev matching during heavy braking when the car is in Sport mode.

Most of the symptoms are still present even after the update. They need to really put some effort into it and come up with a new more robust update.

Wait a minute, I thought rev matching was supposed to be a good thing. They list it as one of the features of the 7AT in the specs

ACtually my car doesnt seem to rev match. Like if i take an aggressive left hand turn, when you get back on the accelerator my car will seem to rev at a higher rpm like its in the wrong gear. I normally have to let the car coast for a bit and then start feathering back in the accelerator.

Austin713, How's the car now that it's been updated? I personally don't see a dramatic change with the transmission after the update, but others may. I find that in automatic mode the car hunts for the right gear way too long, and shifts way too soon at times. I drive in manual mode most of the time because of this. If infiniti doesn't fix this buy the next time I'm ready to buy a car, I'll be looking elsewhere. They've had way too long to resolve this.

Dealer performed the service at no fee. its definately smoother now. i was having issues with hesitation from a stop, as well as hesitation after coasting and it fixed both those issues.

I had mine done a month ago. It hadn't been completed since 2012. You can definitely feel the difference but like someone said, the issues are still there. I can feel the rev matching under heavy braking. My dealer performed the update for free as well.
