yep, read all the how to's. would be nice if my turbos didn't have 20 yrs of japan weather rust on them. pb blaster soak for a week and rubber mallet did not do anything.

advice for anyone with stuck housings use a steering wheel/harmonic damper puller to take out the exhaust housing. worked super fast and really easy. you might destroy the bearings but if you have a new chra, no biggie.

onto the snap rings: giant pita!!! I had to use a punch and hammer the ends loose to break the rust. fancy sears non replaceable tip, snap ring pliers aren't up to the task. even the large 11 inch 90 degree pliers from harbor freight doesn't cut it. I can compress it somewhat and almost get it out but not before it slips off. tried it repeatedly for 5 hours. fml.

gonna order these to give it a try unless anyone has better ideas

Use the 90* and a flat screwdriver. Once you have some room, slide the flat head in there and work your way around. You'll get it.

I've used a pair of good needle nose pliers sharpened to fit the holes(they must be high quality otherwise you'll snap the tips after you've removed material to make them fit), it was a complete pita and required a lot of brute strength.
