First of all, it'll be loud as heck and should like a fart cannon. Your car has one catalytic converter. My sentra I used for a winter beater, the muffler fell off when I backed into a snow bank sounded like crap and annoys the hell out of me. Why would you want to do something like that anway?

Will it increase performance? I remember way back they did a dyno on an Acura GSR and they took off the rear exhaust part. And it increased like 5 or 8 hp. It was in the Import Tuner or Sport Compact Cars like 2 years ago. Any idea?

Well, my resonator recently got a small hole in it (which got bigger). It sounds like I have an exhaust system (actually have gotten a compliment on it). But I wouldnt recommend doing it. The resonator is the first muffler-looking canister before the rear muffler.

Just get a custom exhaust.

Dont do this, its a horrible idea and WILL make you sound like a ricer. Even worse, you wont even have the shiney muffler...hence, the rice crowd will shun you for you un-shineyness and the cool guys will just laugh at your attempt at a power gain. When I was in high school I did some STUPID things trying to get more power out of my cars (PVC air intake, that kinda fun stuff). Let me tell you, not a single dumbass thing I tried was worth it. The best thing to do is leave the car as stock as possible until you can afford to do something the RIGHT way. Just my opinion based upon my experiences ;)

Yeah I didnt say that I cut my exhaust tip off honestly its gay as hell. I hate it. I dont know about power cause that is the way I bought it. BUt honestly my car is pretty damn fast I bet I would take my dads v6 mustang. My accel is fast as hell. OH and my exhaust sounds like a good rumbled exhaust. Not a ricer lawnmower peice of ****. But I would rather much have the dual tip from apex-i looks more stock. But apparently there was no rust spray over my muffler and salt colelcted there and put holes in my wheel well and then erroded everything above my muffler including the muffler right off. Right now im sanding it and washing the rust off with simple green and gonna use that steel putty stuff and reshape smooth and make it look normal again. After that I might spray that ***** to high heaven with the rust spray.

DOnt cut your muffler off unless its falling off. OH and if you do prepare to hear your car backfire until its warmed up completely.

has anyone seen any dyno numbers from running just off the header ?

I know that they make exhaust vavels that you can use to channle the exhaust to a side pipe (for racing only) bc then u could open it up for a few passes on the track and then run the stock exhaust for the street.
