The toyota dealer close to where I live had 2 Prius cars that were left over stock and apparantly the batteries were dead and had to be replaced. I don't know why they went dead or if the were dead on arrival, but I was told the cost was over $6000.

My old Mantra that every used car needs at least $3,000 worth of work, obviously needs raising to cover more modern cars.

Depreciated values often don't properly reflect the needed expenses.
