Anyone here take the bugguard off their sunroof? I took mine off and it looks a heck of a lot bette- like my old one with no sunroof haha. However my friend said when his girlfriend's Maxima's bugguard got taken off, the weatherstrip started coming off the sunroof....is there a correlation between the two? By the way, her Maxima was NOT taken good care of.

It's actually a wind deflector, not merely a bug guard: it helps reduce cabin turbulence and wind noise. If you remove it, you'll see an increase in both with the sunroof open. While it does give a much cleaner look, I doubt the tradeoff would be worth it. Just something to consider.

my '96 maxima didnt have a wind-deflector, but my '99 does. having been in both situations, i prefer having it ON! while it does look "cleaner" the noise is louder with the roof back. plus, from a distance the deflector gives the impression of a "popped-roof" even if yours is down...which i kinda like. so, in my opinion...id say leave it on, but again thats just my opinion.
