Hey. I've got a 1990 240 with the sohc Ka. We just replaced the transmission because it was toast. Now that we have finished that the car runs and shifts fine. But it idles kinda ruff and when you give it gas it takes a while to get above 3500rpm. Especially when you have it in gear. It's like the brakes are on all the time. It just won't climb rpms very fast at all when you try and drive it.

I had a 91Silvia with the Sr20det. The engine in the 240 acts like my SR did when I'd blow an intake line and the air wasn't being monitored by the MAFS. I checked all lines after MAFS and no leaks. Could it be the MAFS??

TIA

from what you describe, it sounds like it could be the MAF or another sensor. it doesnt sound like a mechanical problem...
