i got a 92 ka24de with 130,000 that will run great no problems at all, but somtimes when i turn the car off "like to run into the store" it wont start. It turns over and acts like it wants to start, studders then dies. it doses this a few times then fires right up and runs great. Any ideas??

You smoke at all when it finally does start?? If it smokes a little right after it starts, maybe you have a leaky injector thats causing you to flood a little when you shut the car off. If you let the car sit for a longer time, does it still have the trouble starting? GL

no it dosnt realy mater how long it sit there realy is no pattern to it somtimes it just dosnt want to start, iit just started doing it within the last 3 weeks. Anyway i think it might of been the fuel filter i just changed it out and it flowed both ways and had a buch of black crap come out. so im keeping my fingers crossed.

My car does the exact same thing. My filter had black fuel come out. I changed it and it drove fine for about 3 weeks. It started acting up again with the same symtoms but now the fuel is clean. I still installed a new filter but it didn't help this time. It will crank and run if you ease on the gas. If you hit the gas quickly it will kill the engine almost like it's cutting the air off to it.Zoom45

well it happened again the car wont start. this time i had to tow the car home. got hame i pulled the out line on the fuel filter turned the car over and no fuel came out. The car turns over just fine runs rough then dies. Then it takes a few cranks starts rough then dies. also i noticed that when i tap the acclerator the car dies instantly. There is a raw fuel smell. So im thinking i either have a stuck injector or the fuel pumps out. Any other ideas???

ps i jinxed my self with the prevous update

the thing is when you are runnig whith a restricted fuel filter the fuel pump makes a tremendous effort to keep the fuel pressure as it should be so when you notice the problem most of the times its too late and you replace the fuel filter thinking you solve the problem, and works fine for a period of time but is like a period of grace..
