Takeda Short Air Intake System

Never done anything like this before. Has anyone put one of these in? I was looking around and I could not find much about the installation procedure. I know the stock intake comes out (obviously) but does the front air duct and resonator come out too?? If those are removed wouldn't a hood scoop be necessary? As for cold air intakes, I don't feel comfortable about the risk of hydrolocking the engine no matter how small. Some of the roads here in Vancouver have horrible drainage when it pours our.

To complement that: what should I do as far as the exhaust system? Looking at the ones on shop.versaspeed.com. There's the DC Sports cat back, the Stillen axle back, and tanabe axle back. From what I've heard axle backs are all sound and no power. Should I go with the cat back?

you don't need a hood scoop. also yes the whole air duct comes off when you install your new intake. If you are worried about hydrolocking your car then i'd suggest getting an SRI instead of a CAI. also, go with the catback that will actually give you sound AND power gains. I've had my DC exhaust for over a year now, no problems and love it. also just to let you know the DC header is coming out really soon.
