You probably ended up so "far out of the L33t loop" because you probabaly not an avid online-gamer. Such activities are teaming with either 12-15 year-old kids (or people with the mentalities of those aforementioned) and thus, so much that comes from that culture often has very little founded explanation. You just kind of accept it as a fact of life, even though you have no particular interest in it, or even know why it exists...kinda like ****s.
