Hello, Community!

I am new to the M45 community, but NOT new to the Infiniti scene. I have had a G35x for 6 years that is in the garage, retired, after buying my M45 Sport (it's for sale if anyone is interested, lol).

With this, I have a WHOLE LOT of questions on this car. I will do plenty of searching this site too, but, I'll start with taillights. I didn't find much when I searched that topic.

Anyhow, are there options out there for different taillights? Honestly, I am not sure what I am looking for or what I would like... I'm just wondering what options there are. I don't mind OEM lenses, but, there's something about them that I can't quite put my finger on yet.

Anyhow- Any thoughts?

Thanks!
~George

Welcome to the forum.

I think one member had some JDM Fuga lights on his, but otherwise no...there is no mass produced options that can be found on EBay, etc.

IMO, I think the problem with our tail lights is that they're REALLY big and seem out of proportion with the rear of the car, especially when you look at the 2008 models and up, and definitely compared to the Y51s.

Pretty much your only options are:
1. Nissan Fuga tail lights: some folks think they look ricey, others like 'em...last I checked you could get a pair on Fleabay for a little over $1k and they come it two different style, just search Nissan Fuga tail light, one looks like the US domestic OEM tail light but the clear turn signal portion of the light is oriented straight across, not at an angle, and the other version is more of an iced out/cleared out look
2. A few guys have VHT night shaded them slightly darker which really gives them a richer look...Larz has a whole step-by-step DIY in the How To & FAQ section and the end result is quite awesome looking
3. I used slightly tinted Rvinyl wrap, since I wasn't committed to the look, plus if I need to take it back to stock, I can just peel and go. (it came out okay, I have a few wrinkles and rough spots since it was the first time I had done this)
4. You could put Triton LEDs or some other LEDs for the turn signals and reverse lights.

Call me crazy but I LOVE the Y50 rear end. I miss it. The Y51 was fugly to me for the first few months of owning the car but now that I've tinted the windows, etc. it seems to have 'pulled it together'.

Thanks everyone! I don't dislike them, but I think Pedsemdoc hit the nail on the head. They're just BIG. I do not like the cleared out 'Altezza' style look, but what DonBlaze shows up above, I think I like a bit more. Looks more Benz-ish. Still not quite sure what will really pop for me. I might just end up letting the OEM lights grow on me.

I'll get some pics loaded of my car as soon as I figure out how to do it (with a URL?)

Thanks everyone!

You're right about the size. The only thing that I didn't fancy about my 07 was the HUGE red tail lights. When I tinted them with Nightshades, they seemed to be less conspicuous as they blended into the black body a little better. My 09 tail lights seem to be more suited to the overall size of the rear end. The side mirrors on the M37's are 'van-sized' compared to my 07 or 09 M and actually block a portion of the view out the window. They are bloody HUGE, but they fold in electronically which earns them a 'pass' in my book.

I'm crazy with you Ilya. I love the way my tails look and the size is not an issue for me. The design stands out and I definitely want to be noticed more while braking. Those big LED's are sexy...Lol!!

+2 on that Six lets, I like the 06-07 tail lights better, especially the circle reverse light.
