I'm wondering what solution would be the best to use for removing paint from taillights? I'm not sure about this but I'm thinking brake cleaner or paint thinner would work? Sorry, I'm kinda new to these things.

I would not use harsh solvents/chemicals at all due to the risk of clouding or even eating way at the plastic.

I've used my fingernail before with excellent results, but beyond a clay bar or extremely careful work with a flat razor blade, I don't know. Maybe we can get a painter in here to help.

No brake cleaner or paint thinner. That'll ruin the tail lights.

If they're not clear coated I'd say try some Acetone (nail polish remover). I removed some VHT Nightshade from a friends tail lights that were not clear coated and everything was fine.
