tailight question

i was looking through a bunch of posts yesterday and i saw a pic of the rear end of a 240, and the 240sx lettering in in the middle section was lit up red, it looked really cool, can someone tell me how to do that, this isnt really technical, but i dont remember where i saw the post, so im hopin some body knows what i am talkin about, thanks a lot

Some sanding, and an EL panel (red, blue,green etc) placed over it.
